Freedom is celebrating a remarkable achievement after taking part in a record-breaking performance alongside an international music star.

Freedom Dance Studios proudly represented the region as one of 43 schools from across the UK, Ireland and the Isle of Man to participate in Pro-Excel Dance Yorkshire ‘26, held at Bartercard Odsal Stadium in Bradford on Friday 20th March 2026. The large-scale event saw an incredible 1,170 dancers come together to perform in unison with chart-topping artist Sigala, setting a new world record in the process.

The Wirral group brought 25 dancers to the event, ranging in age from just six years old up to 21, showcasing the studio’s commitment to nurturing talent across all age groups. Despite the scale of the performance, dancers had just one intensive eight-hour rehearsal to learn the choreography before heading to the stadium for a final rehearsal, technical run-through and the main performance.

Adding to the achievement, 17 of our dancers were selected for the prestigious “golden circle,” placing them at the forefront of the performance directly in front of Sigala’s main stage.

From the Owner:

The experience was unforgettable! I am immensely proud of our team. To see 17 of our dancers chosen for the golden circle was incredible. They were right at the front, representing the Wirral with an international artist, and they did themselves proud!

We continue to build a strong reputation locally. Not only for high standards of training but also for our inclusive ethos. We’re driven by a mission to provide elite yet affordable dance opportunities, as we believe access to the arts should not be limited by background or financial circumstances. We believe dance should be accessible to everyone. We’re on a mission to keep bringing opportunities like this to the Wirral. Following our record-breaking success, we hope to inspire more young people to get involved in dance.
